The Pinnacles
& Monashee Lake
The Pinnacle Mountains are located just south of the Monashee Mountains and contain well marked trails to sparkling lakes and vantage points that enable you to see for hundreds of miles.
The Kettle Valley Railway right-of-way has become a favourite travel route because of its easy grades and spectacular scenery. the length of this portion of the trail is about 60 km. The Rock Ovens, two tunnels and the cool oasis of Chute Lake Resort are highlights of this trail loop which takes about 4 hours to bike.
Head south from downtown on Lakeshore Road and stay straight at the fork on to Chute Lake Road. Once on the gravel road, go about 7 km and watch for an old dirt road on the right. Take this road to an old sawmill site and park.
A new 50km wilderness trail following the crest of the mountain ridge on the east side of the valley from Vernon to Mission Creek on Hwy 33(east of Kelowna). Start at the Cosen's Bay Gate of Kal. Lake Prov. Park.
